Universities play a fundamental role in promoting sustainability as spaces for education and knowledge production. This work analyzes the sustainable innovations proposed in the Sustainable Logistics Plan of the University of Pernambuco (PLS-UPE) for 2024-2028, contextualizing its guidelines with academic literature on sustainability in higher education. Using a qualitative exploratory and descriptive approach based on documentary analysis and bibliographic review, the study examines the ten axes of the plan: solid waste management, energy efficiency, water and sewage management, sustainable mobility, sustainable procurement and contracting, education for sustainability, social inclusion and diversity, health and quality of life, communication and engagement, and monitoring and evaluation. Results reveal alignment with global trends in university sustainability and replication potential in other institutions. The study concludes that PLS-UPE success depends on academic community engagement and integration between management, teaching, and research. As a limitation, the absence of empirical data on practical implementation is acknowledged. The research contributes by connecting public management guidelines with academic debates on sustainability, offering strategic recommendations for university managers and serving as a model for other public higher education institutions.
