Abstract

This work proposes to present a possible integration between some concepts and organizational theories, namely, the Agency, critical sensemaking and institutional theories, so that one can comprehensively understand the role of organizations for the development of societies in post modernity, which are complex and full of contingency characteristics. For this, the traditional concepts and some clashes around such theorizations will be addressed initially, seeking to highlight their correlations and, as a comprehensive perspective, may contribute to the construction of feeling about the multiple events in societies. The importance of bringing classic conceptual debates, such as modernism and postmodernism to the studies of organizations, will also be presented, as well as seeking to encourage the adoption of consciously reflective approaches that propose to go beyond what is considered hegemonic. In its methodological aspect, this work can be classified as basic, qualitative and exploratory, and bibliographic research was used as a means to achieve the proposed objective.
