Objective: To analyze the therapeutic action of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) in treating symptoms of Burning Mouth Syndrome (BMS), through a clinical case report with a patient suffering from this syndrome. Case report: This patient is female, 50 years old, with a jaundiced complexion, and sought treatment at the Nova Esperança Dentistry School Clinic of the Nova Esperança Nursing and Medical Colleges in João Pessoa - Paraíba, complaining of oral burning sensation with a duration of three years. After anamnesis and a series of laboratory tests, a definitive diagnosis of BMS was established. Thus, therapy with LLLT was adopted for symptom management and treatment. For this purpose, the MM Optics Portable Duo Laser, with a power of 100mW, was used, applying both point and scanning techniques during 10 sessions. After 3 months of follow-up, the patient reported significant improvement in burning symptoms. Conclusion: Therefore, it can be concluded that there was a significant improvement in symptoms related to BMS, as well as aspects related to the patient's quality of life, confirming the efficacy of LLLT in these cases.
