Objective: This study aims to analyze the applicability of low-level laser therapy on pain and discomfort resulting from orthodontic tooth movement. Methodology: This is an integrative review of the literature from 2013 to 2023, through consultations with PubMed, MEDLINE, SciELO, and the CAPES Digital Thesis Bank (BDTD). Results: The studies showed promising results for the use of laser therapy in controlling pain resulting from orthodontic tooth movement, with the benefit of not causing side effects related to drug therapies. Conclusion: Despite the increasing technological advances in the area of laser therapy, the literature still lacks long-term research with strict and standardized methodological criteria on the subject.
