Abstract

We, as dental surgeons, are recognized for our dedication and commitment to study; consequently, we are regarded as authorities in the field of orofacial harmonization - a specialty exclusive to dentistry. Orofacial harmonization is a thriving field characterized by intense research and evolution, attracting an increasing number of professionals from our discipline to work in this area. Today, it is an established specialty, and we take great pride in that fact. At the SBTI (Brazilian Society of Botulinum Toxin and Facial Implants in Dentistry), and speaking as its current president, we have worked with dedication and diligence to safeguard our colleagues' right to perform procedures authorized by the Federal Council of Dentistry (CFO), while continuously enhancing safety standards and ethical principles within the profession. Our country’s commitment to research and scientific knowledge regarding orofacial harmonization is also noteworthy; indeed, orofacial harmonization is now included as a formal subject in the undergraduate curricula of certain dental schools. A rewarding yet challenging journey lies ahead, and we are confident that we are on a path to success.
