O uso dos pronomes nós e a gente no português falado em Mazagão Velho-AP

Abstract

This article aims to investigate the use of the personal pronouns nós and a gente in the Portuguese spoken in the community of Mazagão Velho - AP. The research is anchored in Labovian Sociolinguistics (LABOV, 2008) and in studies on morphosyntactic variation in Brazilian Portuguese (OMENA, 1996; LOPES, 1998; RUBIO, 2011; SILVA; CAMACHO, 2017; SCHERRE; YACOVENCO; NARO, 2018; SILVA; NAMIUTI, 2019; CARVALHO; FREITAS; FAVACHO, 2020). As a methodological procedure, we collected in loco 12 oral narratives of Portuguese spoken in the community of Mazagão Velho - AP. These data were controlled considering extralinguistic (gender and age group) and linguistic (verbal agreement, explicit subject, tense and verbal mode) factors. Thus, we obtained a total of 379 occurrences, 44 (11.6%) of the pronouns nós and 335 (88.4%) of the pronouns a gente. Regarding factors external to the language, the age group proved to be a conditioner in relation to the speech of younger people who tend to prefer the use of the innovative variant a gente. We also found that in relation to language-internal factors, both the pronoun a gente and the pronoun nós were conditioned from verbs in the present and past tense of the indicative.
