Abstract

Over the past four decades, a collective effort by faculty members at the University of Pernambuco has elevated the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology to an exceptional level. Activities spanning teaching, research, and patient care within the Unified Health System (SUS) have been carried out at the Pernambuco School of Dentistry and the Oswaldo Cruz University Hospital. The Department fosters a rich and diverse research environment and is poised to share values and knowledge to improve health outcomes in Brazil and around the world.
