About the Journal

“Oxe” is a regional interjection, widely spoken in northeastern Brazil. Oxe! (short for Oxente) can be a question, an interrogation or an exclamation. Thus, “oxe” is contextual, representing criticality, resistance and the identity of a people who produce a lot of good things, including qualified scientific knowledge. Inspired by the power of this popular word, we present Oxe! Physical Education Magazine.

Linked to the School of Physical Education at the University of Pernambuco (ESEF/UPE), it is a scientific journal on Physical Education and its different sub-areas (pedagogical practice, teacher training, human performance, health, sport, leisure).

It publishes original research articles and literature reviews, as well as essays, experience reports and interviews, giving priority to articles that are critically reflective and seek to bring theory and practice closer together.

As part of its commitment to scientific development, the journal has open and free access, with no charge for submitting, reading and downloading articles.

The journal will be published annually and articles will be published in continuous flow (Ahead of Print).
