Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • I accept that by publishing the article I transfer the copyright to Oxe! Revista de Educação Física, so that it may openly and freely disclose and distribute all the content of the text, considering only the need to attribute credits to the authors through academic requests.

Author Guidelines

For all sections, manuscripts must be submitted on the journal's website by one of the authors, provided that all of them are registered on the journal's website.

As part of its efforts to enhance academic integrity and prevent plagiarism and self-plagiarism, Oxe! Revista de Educação Física will adopt the service of identifying the similarity of texts using specific identification software.

Oxe! Revista de Educação Física will publish a maximum of two works by the same author or co-author per year.

Oxe! Revista de Educação Física will follow the editorial policy guidelines of international and national indexers regarding the publication of articles submitted by authors linked to the Escola Superior de Educação Física ESEF-UPE. The publication of articles by teachers and/or students from this institution will be limited to 20% per volume.

There is no limit on authorship in any of the journal's sections.

Articles must be written in accordance with ABNT. Articles that do not comply with this structure will be rejected.

Format: articles must be submitted in .doc format (Word); the file must not contain comments or any indication of authorship.

Number of pages: up to 20 pages, 1.5 spacing;

Font: must be typed in Times New Roman font, size 12;

Page formatting: all margins should be 2.5 cm, in A4 format;

Title: be centered and in bold. The first title must be in the language used in the text of the manuscript. Below, the author(s) must insert two translations of the title into other languages. The first letter of the initial word of the title must be written in upper case (capital letters) and the rest in lower case (small letters), with the exception of the first letter of proper names and acronyms. The subtitle should also be written in lower case.

Abstract: below the title, you should insert the summary, abstract and resúmen (3 languages) in no more than 250 words.

Keywords: below the abstract, insert the keywords in the 3 languages chosen, in the same order as the title and abstract. These should consist of five (5) terms that identify the subject of the article, separated by semicolons.

Body of the text: Following the guidelines above and contained in the template. Highlight the forms of citation (indirect, short direct and long direct):

So-and-so (year) in the middle of the text or (So-and-so, year) at the end of the paragraph (don't use all capital letters anymore);
So-and-so (year, p. x) and direct quotation shorter than 3 lines within quotation marks or (So-and-so, year, p. X) at the end of the paragraph;
Long direct quotation indented 4 cm from the left margin, with (So-and-so, year, p. X) at the end of the paragraph;

Elements such as Introduction, Methodology, Analysis, Considerations and References should follow the template, but can be adapted and renamed according to the content of the manuscript.

References: Oxe! Revista de Educação Física uses the standard NBR 6023/2003 (ABNT) and its respective updates as a standard.

Formatting will follow the same criteria as for the body of the text (Times New Roman, size 12, 1.5 spacing, no offset). Highlight the examples of references:

Scientific article

SURNAME, First name. Title of article. Name of journal. City, volume, number, pages and year. Available at: Active link. Accessed on: October 20, 2024.

Book

SURNAME, First name. Title of book. Publisher: City, volume, year.

Book chapter

SURNAME, First name. Title of the chapter. In: SURNAME, First name. Title of the book. Publisher: City, volume, year.

Images and figures: where appropriate, illustrations and tables should be presented within the manuscript in the position the author deems most convenient. They should be centered, numbered, titled and have the corresponding fonts. Images must be high definition (300 dpi, TIF or PNG format).

Financial support: at the end of the manuscript, all financial support received for the study that gave rise to the submitted article must be reported.

Acknowledgements: should be as brief as possible and appear at the end of the text.

Use the template without identifying the authors.

Authorship data will only be filled in in the final version of the article.

Resenhas de livros/obras literárias

A revista publicará resenhas de livros e obras literárias relacionadas a Educação Física, considerando como critério a qualidade das análises da resenha, sendo esta uma perspectiva crítica e dialógica com o conteúdo apresentado no livro. Não serão aceitos resumos. 

As normas são as mesmas das demais seções, exceto a quantidade de páginas que no caso das resenhas é de 5 laudas.
