Ethics in Research Involving Human Participants

According to CNE Resolution No. 466/2012, which sets forth provisions on Ethics in Research Involving Human Participants (https://conselho.saude.gov.br/resolucoes/2012/Reso466.pdf), research involving human participants must be submitted to the Ethics Committee of the institution to which the study is affiliated. Therefore, research falling within this scope, when submitted to Revista Formação, must state in the manuscript the approval protocol number issued by the Ethics Committee. In the Supplementary Documents section, the author must upload a copy of the Committee’s approval document authorizing the research.

Compliance with COPE Principles (Committee on Publication Ethics)

Authors are advised to consult the official COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) website, which provides principles and flowcharts designed to clarify questions and strengthen the ethical aspects of editorial processes related to the evaluation and publication of scientific research.

Ethical Responsibility and Oversight by the Revista Formação Team

Editors will take measures to identify and prevent the publication of works involving research misconduct, such as plagiarism, citation manipulation, and data falsification/fabrication, among other possible forms of misconduct.

If an editor of Revista Formação becomes aware of any allegation of research misconduct related to a text published in the journal, the Editorial Board must strictly follow COPE guidelines in responding to the allegations.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST

Conflicts of interest may arise when authors, reviewers, or editors have interests that may negatively influence the preparation or evaluation of manuscripts, resulting in a loss of impartiality and scientific rigor. When submitting a manuscript for evaluation, authors are responsible for identifying and disclosing financial or other conflicts that may have influenced the writing of the work. If there is any conflict of interest, even potentially, authors must disclose it in a signed document attached to the submission platform.

Reviewers must also inform the editors of any conflicts of interest that could influence their assessment of the manuscript and must declare themselves unqualified to review it when necessary.

FUNDING NOTE

When the research that gave rise to the manuscript has received funding from funding agencies or institutions, the source of funding must be stated in a dedicated note.
