This study aims to discuss the process of inclusion of deaf students in the community and at school, considering the family context, learning difficulties and multifactorial aspects involved in the teaching and learning process. It is the result of classroom activity, of the Health Education in Teaching Practice discipline at PPGFPPI UPE Campus Petrolina and was carried out through a Case Method. The student group developed a hypothetical clinical case of deafness, including diagnosis, current legislation, family acceptance, inclusion of the deaf student in the school and community. The reflections point to the importance of a sensitive and prepared teacher, with a more visual and inclusive teaching style, expanding the communicative network of this deaf student with others, including family and friends.
