This text presents the book “Physical Education in the Northeastern Context: Formative, Curricular, and Representational Perspectives,” released in 2025 by Editora CRV. The work is the result of partnerships between the Study Group on Education and Body Practices (GEEPRACOR) and the Postgraduate Program in Physical Education (PPGEF), both at the Federal University of Vale do São Francisco. We propose to present some research carried out in the context of the Brazilian Northeast, addressing initial training, curricula, and pedagogical practices, discussions of representations, and production of identity in the education of bodies that affect Physical Education. We understand that the work contributes to expanding the production of knowledge on Physical Education carried out in the Northeastern states, highlighting the knowledge and experiences of teachers and researchers who live in one of the regions most undervalued by public policies in our country, but which has a rich cultural heritage that needs to be valued and recognized throughout Brazil.
